Newsletter 21Kelly
Kelly would like to thank everyone
for her wedding present. We bought
her some Denby crockery in the Black Stripe pattern. Kelly will bring some of her wedding
photos to the Party on 17th July (more details later in this
newsletter.) Summer
Lessons
The weekend of July 10th/11th is the
last in the current six week session.
If you would like your child to ride at the normal time on the weekend of
July 17th/18th you will therefore have to book in
specially – we will not assume you are coming! The lesson times will be as normal apart
from the 2.30pm lesson on Saturday which will start at 2pm. Following that there will be lessons on
most weekends throughout the holiday apart from the two weekends that Katy and
Owen are away which will be Pony Mornings – on 7th/8th and 14th/15th August.
As there is usually a reduced demand
during the holidays, lesson times on Saturdays and Sundays will be as
follows(see programme for dates): 45 minute lessons: 9am and 11.30am 30 minute lessons: 9.45am, 10,15am
and 11.00am Please book in for these
lessons. Payment is due on the day
with the usual 24 hour notice period for cancellation applying. If you want to book in for three
lessons, you may pay in advance for all three at the reduced
rate. Summer
Programme
We have also scheduled an exciting
array of hacks, tests, workshops, handy pony and jumping competitions. Please see the attached schedules (in
two weekly lots) for more details.
We will also put them on the website. As always if we have missed
something or, for example, your child really wanted to do the Handy Pony
competition but can’t come on those dates then please do tell us. We will do all we can to add an extra
event if the demand is there. Payment for activities is due in
advance please. If you need to
cancel and give at least 48 hours notice, we will return your money. We will also keep a waiting list so that
if we are able to ‘re-sell’ your place, we would also refund your money even
without the full notice period. To book your places, please complete
the booking form below and return with your payment. You may request a space without payment
but this will not be guaranteed until payment is received. ABRS
Tests
More children took their ABRS
equitation tests at Whitsun and again all passed. Those taking the tests were as
follows – a * indicates a pass with distinction. Test 1

Eve Truscott There are several opportunities for
taking these tests throughout the summer.
We will also be offering the ABRS Stable Management tests. If you are interested in this, I will let
you have more details. Pony ClubPlease also see separate Pony Club
newsletter, which will follow when I have written it! Pony Club PartyPony Club are having a party on
Saturday 17th July to which everyone is invited to
attend. The party will last from
3pm until 5pm. This is going to be
a real family event with challenges for the whole family (three legged obstacle race, unmounted
gymkhana, quizzes) and a party tea to finish. Please come along and have some
fun. Charges are Pony Club members £3,
Non-Pony Club children £3.50, Adults £4 or a Family ticket for £10. It would be helpful if you would let me
know if you are coming so I know how many cakes to make (or
buy!) It will also be an opportunity to
bring along riding clothes, boots, hats etc that your child has outgrown and see
if anyone else would like to buy it.
A sort of horsy car boot sale!
Parking will be quite limited but if the weather stays dry, we can park
on the field. Pony
Loans Last summer we offered our ponies on
a weekly loan. This covers two full
days during the week and one weekend afternoon. We are offering this again but on a more
limited basis as we there are more general activities this summer. The cost for a week will be £50.00. Please note that an adult has to be
responsible for their child and the pony at all times and will need to sign a
loan agreement. Please ask if you would like further
details. Uniform
Did you notice our new logo at the
top of the newsletter? Our resident
artist has finally completed her GCSE’s and has translated Naomi Riley’s design
into our finished logo. I think it
looks great! We will now be
offering Polo shirts, sweatshirts and waterproof jackets with our logo printed
on them. It is not compulsory to
wear them but they will be good quality clothing at affordable prices. We should have some samples for you to
see at the party on the 17th July and so will be taking orders
then. Best regards, Katy, Owen and
Kelly.
